Most likely you are not using Internet Explorer.
ActiveX is supported only by Internet Explorer, other browsers
will need the appropriate plug-ins. Here is a list of browsers
that we had tested our e800 on:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and above
- Netscape 8.0 (rendered with IE engine)
- Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7 and above (with IE
Tab extension)

We have noted that some users do
encounter the DAX Error when installing the E800 ActiveX control.
This is abnormal as it means that the ActiveX control is being executed
when all the required components are not completely installed yet.
If the error persists when using our E800 Phone, follow these steps
to correct it:
- Click on My Computer and go to your Windows
folder (in our case is c:\windows).
- Double-click on Downloaded Program Files.You
will see a list of installed components.
- Find and right-click on UAComFormX Control
and choose Remove. If you cannot remove the component, close
your browser(we assume IE), start a new browser and return to
this page.Repeat this step again to ensure that UAComFormX Control
is removed.
- Click on Start->run, type "CMD" and
press Enter.
- In command prompt, type "CD c:\windows\downlo~1" (without
quotes) and press Enter.
- Then type "DIR" and press Enter to view
the content of the directory.
- Look for any uacomx.ocx or euacom.dll
file(s). If they exists, delete them by using "DEL UACOMX.OCX" and/or
"DEL EUACOM.DLL" followed by Enter.
- Close the command prompt window and start
your browser.
- Go to Tools->Internet Options, under
Temporary Internet Files, click on Delete cookies.
- Click OK Go to the e800 webpage and install
the ActiveX control again

This error occurs only in Internet
Explorer and usually in a slow network environment. It occurs when
the browser window, which hosts the e800 page, was closed and the
ActiveX control unloaded before communications with our server is
completely terminated. Due to heavy traffic or slow network connections,
a network packet may take an abnormally longer time to reach the
ActiveX control, which may already be unloaded when the browser
closed. IE chooses not to ignore the error and issue you the IE
Error. If the problem persists and you could not improve the networking
environment, use a different browser that supports ActiveX. |
