A: First of all you should have a high speed (broadband) Internet connection. You will need a computer headset (with microphone) which you can get from your local computer shop for under $10 US. For more convenient calling you can buy a USB Phone. If you buy a USB Adaptor, you can use any conventional or cordless phone to make and receive calls.

A: After the Soft Phone is installed on a suitable computer, the only other requirement is a microphone and speakers and Internet connectivity. Using a headset, with built in microphone will be more convenient and offer better call quality. For the ultimate calling experience, use a Uni-Tel USB Phone.

A: Yes, it is always possible to browse and talk at the same time. Call quality is influenced by available bandwidth, if your Internet connection's bandwidth is very small, browsing will affect the quality of your call.
Q: How Do I Make A Call From My Soft Phone?
A: Once your Soft Phone is activated, you can use your mouse to click on the number buttons of the Soft Phone and then press the call key. You can also use your keyboard to dial by merely typing the number. If you have a USB Phone connected to your computer, you make a call like dialling from a normal phone. If the number is stored in the address book of your Soft Phone, you can just "double click" on the number or highlight the number and press the dial button, the Soft Phone will automatically dial the number. You can also dial from your call history in the same manner as from you phone book.
Q: What Happens If I Switch My Computer Off?
A: When your computer is switched off, your Soft Phone will not be available for incoming calls. The Uni-Tel VoIP network will automatically forward all your calls to your voicemail box. You can also, divert your calls to any other Soft Phone, normal or mobile phone number, anywhere in the world.

A: For you to receive calls on your Soft Phone, your computer needs to be switched on and connected to the Internet. Your Soft Phone needs to be activated on your computer and you need a microphone and speakers, a headset or a Uni-Tel USB Phone. Any other subscriber can then call you by dialling your Soft Phone number from any VoIP device connected to the Uni-Tel VoIP network.
